Let the movies begin

So, I won a couple of things in the month of June - which never happens. I was very pleasantly surprised before Father’s day and won a new grill! We were in need of a new one because the old one had been around since before we were married and we had purchased it with our first townhome. Needless to say I was extremely happy. I’ll fill you in on my blog if you would like to hear the tale. The other thing I won was a Flip video camcorder (you can also find out more about this on my blog). I never though I would use or enjoy something like it, but I have been using the crap out of it since I got it. It is such a nice way to quickly and easily get video and edit/share it.

Anyway, I have a bunch of video now to upload and share with you. Here is the first of many for your viewing enjoyment.

PS. Check the volume on your computer before playing these as some of them sound like an animal is being tortured (there were no animals harmed in the making of these films).

Independence Day

It’s hard to believe that yet another month has gone by and here we are at the 4th of July. First off, Happy Independence Day to all of you! We hope you had a fun and festive 4th with lots of fireworks, hot dogs, flags, and kids screaming at the fireworks (or crying because they are too loud).

Our day was fun and started out with going to the Freedom Festival in downtown Provo. There were a lot of vendor booths with food and knick knacks of all sorts and some fun activities and games for the kids. Keaton and Cambry both got their faces painted - Keaton got fireworks and Cambry got a butterfly - and jumped around in a couple of blow-up jumping playpens. It was hot, but fun and we all had a good time.

This afternoon we took the kids to go see Horton Hears a Who at the dollar movies in Orem. They have both seen it before with Grandma Lisa, but we wanted to see it with them and the kids didn’t mind seeing it again. The movie was funny and we all enjoyed it despite the lack of A/C in the theater (we saw the sign saying the A/C was broke in that theater after we had bought the non-refundable tickets - would have been good to know - glad they were only a dollar). It was warm but tolerable at the beginning, but towards the end it was more like a sauna that smelled like popcorn. We were happy to get back into an air conditioned car.

Tonight we went to one of the three places in Utah County doing a fireworks display. We didn’t want to shell out the bucks or fight the crowds or put ourselves in harms way for Miley Cyrus tickets nor did we want to shell out way too much to drive up to Thanksgiving point, so we did the next best thing (the only one left), we ended up at Pleasant Grove Junior High School (I still cant type or write Grove without the “r” on the end of it) and watched a really good fireworks display put on by the PG Fire Dept. We had great seats right under the fireworks and got there a little earlier than every one else so we got a killer parking space. We played games and ran around for about an hour and a half before the show started. Keaton got a little scared in the middle of the display but Cambry loved every second. I got shelled in the face by a rather big fragment of firework casing but lived through it to write this post.

It has been a fun and eventful day and now, since it is 1:30am, I am going to hit the sack. I will be posting some videos in the next little bit, so check back.

Sleep anyone?

The last week has been one of adventure and playfulness…at 12:30 at night. The kids have been developing some late night habits and Mom and Dad are about ready to install some iron bars for a door and an automatic lock system that can be set on a timer. A few straight jackets might also be in order. (Just kidding if CPS is patrolling the blog).

They have both had little colds and have been up and down all day and night. Cambry thinks that trying to get brother to play with her at 2 am is acceptable and then we wonder why she is ornery all day long. Keaton hasn’t been too bad, but he is the get-up-at-the-butt-crack-of-dawn child. So between them both we haven’t been getting much sleep.

We have found that small doses of melatonin (natural sleep aid found in the vitamin section of the grocery store) help speed the going to bed process, but if anyone has some recipes for a full nights sleep with a side of sleep-in then we are all ears.

We hope this to shall pass - and it will. Just venting for the moment.

P.S. I have been updating pictures and have some new ones up. Still working on it though so keep checking back.

A Little Update

So it has been a long while since this site has updated and it is due for a face lift. Christmas has most definitely come and gone - so out with the winter/Christmas theme. I know the current look isn’t the most eye-catching thing around, but until I can get something put together…sorry. Celeste has been keeping her blog more up-to-date, so if you would like to read the latest check it out.

Hopefully I can keep this a little more current from now on.

There are some new pictures up in the galleries. Check them out - more will be coming in the next few days.

Keep checking back as I will be posting more updates and making changes. Drop us an email and let us know how you are doing.

Thanks!!

Happy Anniversary!

Today Celeste and I celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary! I can’t believe I have been married to the perfect woman for 6 years. It seems like time has flown by and here we are. Pretty soon it will be 10, then 20, then 50, then 100 - wow that would be cool. We are celebrating by pawning the kids of on the Grandparents (what a blessing) and having some Ron and Celeste time for a day. It’s nice to be able to spend some time together without having to deal with whines and cries and fights over everything. Read more »
